# DontMailMe — Auto-unsubscribe from newsletters you never read

> Free, open-source, privacy-first. A copy-paste script that runs inside your own Gmail or Outlook and unsubscribes you from newsletters using the RFC 8058 one-click standard. Our servers never see your email. Every cleanup plants a tree.

## What it is

Reach inbox zero and keep it there. DontMailMe auto-unsubscribes you from the newsletters draining your attention and your storage. Set it once; your inbox stays clean. It's free, open source (MIT), and runs in your own cloud — so there's no company in the middle reading or selling your data ("zero-data by design"). Because every cleanup means fewer emails sent to you forever, we also plant a tree and show the CO₂ you prevented.

## Why it matters

- A typical office worker gets 100+ emails a day.
- 70% name email their #1 source of work stress (Mailbird Email Overload Survey 2025); it takes ~23 minutes to refocus after each interruption (UC Irvine).
- Junk mail quietly eats your shared 15 GB free Google storage (Google Support).

## How it works (3 steps)

1. **Copy the script** — we generate a small open-source script for your mail provider; you can read every line.
2. **Paste it into your own account** — Google Apps Script (Gmail) or your desktop (Outlook / Apple Mail). It lives in your cloud, not ours.
3. **Relax** — it sends the official one-click unsubscribe for each junk newsletter and tidies your inbox, on autopilot.
